Hezbollah prepares to respond if Israeli aggression continues, as air raids hit Gaza causing casualties including children. Protests against Netanyahu in Jerusalem
Hezbollah has issued a clear warning: if the Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon does not stop, it will not hesitate to assert the country’s right to defend itself. This was reported by the Lebanese daily ‘Al-Akhbar’, close to Hezbollah, which points out that there are growing fears regarding the holding of the ceasefire, especially in light of Israeli operations along the border villages.
Meanwhile, the IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) published a video showing the discovery and destruction of a Hezbollah tunnel in the southern region of Lebanon. This tunnel, about 100 metres long, was used by the elite Radwan force to store weapons and military equipment, and led to a command centre where rocket launchers and explosives used against Israel were found.
Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, at least nine Palestinian civilians, including three children, were killed in new Israeli air raids. One of the hardest hit areas was the Al Maghazi refugee camp, where a house was destroyed, resulting in the death of a family. The victims were transported to the Al Aqsa hospital in Deir al Balah. Other bombings hit refugee settlements in Mawasi, in the southern city of Rafah, and in Jabalia, in the north of the Strip.
In the north, Israeli drones killed two people and injured others in the villages of Jabalia al-Balad and Jabalia al-Nazla. Al Jazeera confirmed that the victims were shot in a targeted attack.
On the media front, the arrest of Hussam Abu Safiya, director of the Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza, was denied. Despite earlier reports from the Gaza Ministry of Health, a message posted on the doctor’s Instagram profile confirms that he is well, but reports communication problems due to the situation on the ground.
Tensions also spread to Israeli territory: the IDF intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it could hit the territory. Sirens sounded in Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and the Negev, but there was no significant damage.
On the domestic front, protests continued in Jerusalem, where five demonstrators were arrested while protesting outside the home of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding the release of hostages held by Hamas. The protesters denounced the conditions in which the hostages live, emphasising the contrast between their suffering and the protected life of Netanyahu and his family. Although the protest lasted only twenty minutes, some participants were arrested for violating noise regulations.
