Roadblocks and demonstrations to demand the release of hostages as attacks continue in the Palestinian enclave

Demonstrations in Israel – Today, Tuesday 26 August, dozens of relatives of the hostages blocked several roads in Israel to demand that Netanyahu’s government halt military operations in Gaza. Among the roads blocked were Route 2 north of Tel Aviv and sections of Routes 1 and 443, which connect Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Protests also took place in front of the residences of several ministers, including that of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, where demonstrators read out the names of the hostages.

New casualties in Gaza – Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, Israeli attacks have claimed at least 20 new victims, according to medical sources cited by al-Jazeera. Among them are seven people from the same family in Gaza City and six, including minors, in a tent for displaced persons in Khan Yunis.

Humanitarian crisis – Three more adults are reported to have died of starvation and malnutrition in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths related to malnutrition to 303, including 117 children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
