Ukrainian president opens up to deals after Trump’s statements on US aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Kiev is ready to welcome investment from US companies in the rare earths sector, following Donald Trump’s statements speculating a link between US aid and access to these strategic resources.

‘I would like American companies to develop this sector here,’ Zelensky told a press conference, adding that he had already discussed the issue directly with Trump. Rare earths are crucial to several technology sectors, from battery production to electronic devices, and could become a key element in the economic relationship between Ukraine and the US.
