Federica Brignone took a new victory in the Alpine Ski World Cup, triumphing in the SuperG in Kvitfjell with a time of 1.30.11. The Italian skier was just 0.06 seconds ahead of Switzerland’s Lara Gut Behrami, who came down with the red bib as the specialty leader, but now with a growing gap in the overall standings.
A triumph that counts for Brignone
With this victory, Federica Brignone achieves her 35th career victory, thus reaching another important milestone in her long and prestigious career. Moreover, this is her eighth victory of the season, confirming her outstanding form in this World Cup season. The Italian continues to shine on the international slopes, consolidating her role as an absolute protagonist on the Alpine skiing scene.
Sofia Goggia finishes in third place
Rounding out the SuperG podium in Kvitfjell is another Italian, Sofia Goggia, who finished third with a 0.09-second gap from Brignone. For Goggia this is the 60th podium in her career, another significant achievement for one of Italy’s most talented and beloved female skiers.
With this victory, Federica Brignone further consolidates her position in the overall World Cup standings over Lara Gut Behrami.
