At least 28 killed inGaza City, Netanyahu announces action against Houthis

At least 28 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza today, Dec. 22, 2024. Local authorities report that the raids hit a house and a school housing displaced people in Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighborhood. The Israeli army said the building was being used by Hamas. Gaza’s Ministry of Health updated the death toll since the war began: 45,259 dead since Hamas launched attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, leaving 1,200 dead and 250 seized.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced measures against the Houthis following the launch of a missile from Yemen that crashed into central Israel. Netanyahu reiterated that “the Houthis pose a threat to the international order” and promised an Israeli response, although it may take time.
