British Museum partially closed after sabotage by a former employee
Arrested former employee who shut down museum’s computer systems
The British Museum in London has partially closed its doors to visitors after a former employee, who was fired last week, shut down some of the museum’s computer systems. The incident occurred yesterday and forced the closure of some galleries. During the weekend, visitor access will be restricted, with priority given to those who have already purchased tickets.
A museum spokesman told the BBC that the former employee was arrested on the spot by the police. The museum confirmed that it is working to fully restore the service, but temporary exhibitions will remain closed over the weekend.
