The second phase of the agreement between Israel and Hamas provided for the release of 200 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for four Israeli soldiers

Only the Palestinian prisoners released by Israel who left the prisons of Ofer, in the West Bank, and Ktziot, in the Negev desert, boarded the buses provided for the exchange. This operation is part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that began last Sunday, 19 January.

The agreement called for Israel to release 200 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of four Israeli soldiers, all of whom were freed by Hamas this morning in Gaza.
