The Palestinian Islamist movement calls for international support to stop attacks on the Gaza Strip, accusing Israel of a genocidal war against civilians
Hamas calls for ‘pressure’ on the United States, Israel’s main supporter, for the latter to cease its attacks on the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli authorities, the military offensives are aimed at forcing Hamas to release more hostages.
In an official statement, the Palestinian Islamist movement urged ‘friendly countries’ to press the US government to stop what it calls a genocidal aggression against defenceless civilians in the Strip. Hamas stated, ‘We call on friendly countries that support the just Palestinian cause to pressure the US government to end this aggression and genocidal war against defenceless civilians.’
The situation in the Gaza Strip remains critical, with continued attacks and growing concern over civilian casualties, while the international community is divided over possible solutions to the conflict.
