A vehicle launched at a crowd in Karkur Junction, near Pardes Hanna, injured 12 people. Police arrested the perpetrator, who was neutralized

In a serious car attack in Karkur Junction near Pardes Hanna, 12 people were injured, at least one of them in critical condition. According to police, four or five other people are in serious condition and have been transported to a local hospital for immediate treatment.

A police spokesman, interviewed by Channel 12 news, said, “The terrorist is in the hands of the police. He has been neutralized.” The attack occurred near a bus stop, where the vehicle accelerated and ran over a group of people.

After hitting the crowd, the bomber tried to flee, heading toward a nearby police car. The officers present managed to chase him down and stop him. “The car tried to continue toward a nearby police car and hit it. Officers chased him, caught him and neutralized him,” the spokesman explained.

Initial investigations regarding the attack that took place in Karkur Junction have led to new information about the perpetrator. The Shin Bet, Israel’s security service, reports that the perpetrator of the car attack would be a Palestinian from the northern West Bank, and not an Israeli Arab citizen as previously reported.
