Shooting in Minneapolis, suspect killed
Early reports indicate two dead and twenty wounded inside the church. Attack near a church and Catholic school on the first day of classes
Today, Wednesday 27 August, Minneapolis was the scene of a shooting near Annunciation Church and the adjacent Catholic school. Minnesota Democratic Party Chairman Ken Martin explained that the number of victims is still unclear at this time. (Update – Early reports indicate two dead and twenty wounded inside the church)
According to Fox News, the suspect responsible for the attack was neutralised by law enforcement. Numerous ambulances and various agencies, including the FBI, state police and local forces, responded to the scene.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said he was being kept up to date on the situation and expressed his solidarity: ‘I am praying for our children and teachers, who have started the school year facing such a tragic act of violence.’
