The wave of bad weather has hit the southern and central regions of the United States, causing fatalities and extensive damage

The wave of bad weather that has hit the southern and central parts of the United States has caused at least 16 deaths, including two children. Heavy rains and flooding, which have hit Tennessee, Missouri, Indiana, Arkansas, and Kentucky, have devastated numerous areas since April 4.

Fatalities and damages
Tennessee was the hardest hit, with ten confirmed fatalities. In Kentucky, police confirmed the death of a nine-year-old boy who was swept away by the force of the water while trying to reach a bus stop. Also in Kentucky, a 74-year-old man died after becoming trapped in his car, which was submerged in water.

Fatal accidents and tornadoes
In Missouri, two firefighters lost their lives during rescue efforts, one on Wednesday and the other on Friday. In Arkansas, where rainfall exceeded monthly averages in a few days, a five-year-old boy lost his life. In addition, tornadoes were reported in several areas, further complicating the situation. Entire blocks were flooded, with extensive damage to homes.
