Tucker Carlson charges, “Attempted assassination of Putin by Biden administration.”
Scoop without evidence in former Fox News anchorman’s podcast. Kremlin retorts, “Maximum protection for Putin.” No comment at this time from Biden
Former Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson has made heavy accusations against the Biden administration, claiming-without providing any evidence-that the United States tried to kill Russian President Vladimir Putin. The statement was made during the latest episode of his podcast, The Tucker Carlson Show.
“It’s crazy to even think of such a thing, but they did it. Chaos is their screen,” said Carlson, already known for his controversial political views and closeness to American conservatives. In 2023, Carlson had interviewed Putin in a lengthy interview in which he merely listened to the Russian leader, without countering his statements.
The Kremlin’s retort was not long in coming. Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian president, assured that “Russian special services are constantly taking all necessary measures to ensure public security and, of course, that of the head of state.”
Carlson, who was expelled from Fox News in 2023 after a scandal related to unfounded allegations of election fraud, has often criticized the U.S. administration for its military support of Ukraine and called the government in Kiev “not a democracy.”
Carlson’s statements come in an already sensitive context for relations between Washington and Moscow, fueling further controversy. However, there is a lack of concrete evidence to support his accusations.
There is currently no statement from former President Biden’s.
