After eight years of legal and personal clashes, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have signed an agreement to make their divorce official, ending their long-running dispute

After eight years of legal battle, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally signed a divorce agreement. The news, which was anticipated by ‘People’ magazine and confirmed by the international media, brings to an end one of Hollywood’s most closely watched divorces. However, the details of the agreement have not been made public. Jolie’s lawyer James Simon said that the actress had filed for divorce more than eight years ago, and that since then she has focused on the welfare of her children and finding peace for her family.

The emotional impact for Angelina Jolie

According to Jolie’s lawyer, the actress is relieved that this stage of the lengthy process is over, although she admitted to being exhausted. A source close to the actress confirmed that Jolie does not speak ill of Pitt, either publicly or privately, trying to maintain a calm tone despite the dark period.

Accusations and battles over assets

The separation between Pitt and Jolie was not only emotionally turbulent, but also legally complicated. After Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, allegations of abusive behaviour by Pitt towards her and their six children inflamed the dispute. Further complicating the divorce, the couple clashed over the sale of shares in Château Miraval, a property in the south of France where they had started a wine business together with a family of winemakers.
