FBI releases images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie disappearance case. Photos show a hooded person outside her Tucson home as the investigation turns criminal

FBI releases images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie disappearance case. Federal investigators have made public four black-and-white images showing a person of interest linked to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC News journalist Savannah Guthrie.

The images, taken on the morning of the disappearance, show a hooded individual wearing gloves and carrying a backpack, apparently armed, outside the woman’s home in Tucson, Arizona. The person appears to be tampering with the security camera located near the front door.

According to authorities, the material released as part of the FBI releases images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie disappearance case investigation was recovered from residual system data. FBI Director Kash Patel said the images represent the first visual evidence connected to a possible subject involved in the case.

The disappearance was reported on February 1 after the woman failed to log in to an online religious service. Nancy Guthrie had last been seen the previous evening after having dinner at her daughter’s home.

The case, initially handled by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, was later classified as a criminal investigation with federal support. Investigators have not publicly identified any suspects, but the FBI releases images of suspect in Nancy Guthrie disappearance case development marks a significant step in the inquiry.

Some media outlets have reported receiving information about a bitcoin ransom demand, but authorities have not confirmed those claims.

The family has issued a public appeal. In a video message, Savannah Guthrie said she believes her mother is “still out there” and asked for public help in locating her. Authorities have not scheduled public briefings and are urging anyone with relevant information to contact investigators.
