The Matthew Perry doctor sentencing has resulted in a 30-month jail term for Salvador Plasencia, the medic who admitted supplying ketamine to Matthew Perry only weeks before the actor’s fatal overdose in 2023. The 44-year-old, who ran an urgent-care clinic in Calabasas, pleaded guilty in July to four counts of ketamine distribution.

A plea deal that avoided a harsher penalty

As part of the Matthew Perry doctor sentencing, Plasencia accepted a plea agreement that prevented him from standing trial in August. Prosecutors noted he had faced a possible maximum of 10 years in federal prison for each charge.

Emotional apology in court

During the hearing linked to the Matthew Perry doctor sentencing, Plasencia addressed the court in tears, saying: “I should have protected him… I must take responsibility.” His remorseful statement closed a case that reignited debate over medical accountability in the actor’s final weeks.
