Trump-Putin phone call: cooperation to start Ukraine peace talks

A new commitment to peace in Ukraine between the US and Russia

Donald Trump announced on Truth that he and Putin have ‘agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s nations, to start peace talks as soon as possible’. Both leaders agreed to have their respective teams begin negotiations immediately and to inform Ukrainian President Zelensky immediately.

Key negotiators for the US

Trump instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations. Trump expressed confidence that these negotiations will be a success.

Putin’s invitation to Trump for a visit to Moscow

For his part, Putin has invited Trump to Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the telephone conversation between the two heads of state, which lasted about an hour and a half.

Trump wrote on Truth that he had a long and productive phone call with Putin, discussing Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, dollar power and various other topics. This news was also confirmed by a report anticipated by CNN.
