The president relaunches his idea during an interview on Fox News: ‘We lose $200 billion in subsidies’. Then he flies to New Orleans for the Super Bowl

Donald Trump has again suggested that Canada could become the 51st state of the United States. During an interview on Fox News in the Super Bowl pre-game, the president reiterated the concept, lamenting an alleged economic burden in relations with Ottawa.

‘We lose $200 billion in subsidies to Canada,’ he claimed.

After the interview, Trump left for New Orleans aboard Air Force One to attend the Super Bowl. With him were his daughter Ivanka and son Eric accompanied by his wife Lara.

The president’s statements have provoked mixed reactions, with some analysts interpreting them as a mere rhetorical provocation, while in Canada they have already reignited the debate on relations with Washington.
