Israeli PM backs Trump’s plan and assures Palestinians will be allowed to return after reconstruction
Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that there will be ‘neither forced eviction nor ethnic cleansing’ in the Gaza Strip. In an interview with Fox News, the Israeli PM emphasised that Palestinian residents will be able to return to the region once reconstruction is complete, supporting Donald Trump’s plan to turn the area into a ‘riviera’.
Netanyahu added that temporary relocation will be given to Palestinians, but with the condition that they must renounce terrorism in order to return. He also reiterated the goal of removing Hamas from the Strip and bringing the Israeli hostages home.
Meanwhile, Egypt convened an emergency summit on 27 February to discuss the Palestinian situation, with the involvement of the Arab League.
