The tycoon confirms the farewell press conference with Musk in the Oval Office. The White House spokesperson thanks the manager for launching Doge and confirms the continuation of efforts against waste and fraud

‘It will be his last day, although not really, because he will always be with us, always helping us.’ So Donald Trump, in a post on Truth, confirmed the press conference scheduled for this evening in the Oval Office, at the end of Elon Musk’s term as “Special Government Employee”, a position with a maximum duration of 130 days. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. Washington time, 7:30 p.m. in Italy. ‘Elon is fantastic!’ Trump reiterated.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said yesterday: ‘We thank him for launching Doge, and efforts to reduce waste, fraud and abuse will continue.’ Shortly before, Musk had confirmed on X his intention to leave his position in the Trump administration, with a more relaxed tone of gratitude than in his interview with CBS, where he said he was “disappointed” with the new budget law proposed by the former president.
