MotoGP: Jorge Martín, successful right hand operation
Surgery successful, recovery time to be assessed
Jorge Martín’s right hand operation has been successfully completed. The medical team at the Clinica Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona, led by Dr. Xavier Mir, confirmed the positive outcome of the operation.
The Spanish rider had suffered a bad high-side during the first day of testing at Sepang, sustaining a fracture of the head of the 5th metacarpal of his right hand and a fracture of the 3rd, 4th and 5th metatarsals of his left foot. After a night at the Aurelius Hospital in Nilai, Jorge Martín returned to Europe to undergo surgery at the Quirón Dexeus Clinic on Friday morning.
Fortunately, no surgery was necessary for the fracture in his left foot. Recovery times will be evaluated in the coming days, depending on the evolution of the rider’s condition.
