A new offensive on Gaza City is expected to begin in mid-September, about two weeks after the reservists called up on 2 September enter service. This is according to Channel 12, which reports that an appeal will be made on Sunday to about one million Palestinians to leave the city.
Disagreements between the government and the army
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and political leaders are pushing for a rapid start to the operation.
