Israel: hostages freed, release of Palestinian detainees underway
After the release of three Israeli women, Israel begins the release of Palestinian detainees as per the agreement with Hamas
With the return home of the three Israeli women freed by Hamas, Israel has begun procedures for the release of Palestinian detainees, as stipulated in the agreement brokered in recent days.
The release of the Palestinian prisoners, which includes dozens of women and minors, is a delicate step for Israel. The agreement does not provide for reciprocity in the number of detainees released, but is part of a broader operation aimed at securing the gradual release of hostages still held in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli army sources reported that the three women – Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher – will remain in the Safra Children’s Hospital, part of the Sheba Medical Centre, for the next few days.
The children’s hospital was chosen to ensure a quiet and reserved environment, ideal for psychological and physical recovery. The women will undergo thorough medical check-ups and receive specialised psychological support to help them overcome the trauma experienced during their captivity.

‘Right now, along with the excitement and anticipation, we in the IDF are committed to all the hostages and their families, soldiers and civilians. We will not stop or rest until they are all returned.’ (x.com)
