The tragic New Year’s Eve incident, which saw a Tesla Cybertruck explode in front of the Trump Hotel, was caused by suicide, the FBI confirms. Former veteran Matthew Aaln Livelsberger ended his life, in an act related to his mental condition.

The Tesla Cybertruck explosion that occurred on New Year’s Eve in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas has been confirmed as a suicide. The FBI, through investigator Spencer Evans, revealed that former Green Beret Matthew Aaln Livelsberger, 37, shot himself in the head before blowing up the vehicle. The tragedy is linked to his struggle with post-traumatic stress syndrome, stemming from his experience in Afghanistan. The incident ruled out any connection with the New Orleans massacre, where another veteran killed 14 people in an attack.

The Las Vegas Police Department revealed details of his last messages, in which Livelsberger expressed support for President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. but also a tragic view of the United States, described as ‘terminally ill’. The letter found by police included the idea of using explosives and fireworks to communicate his message, denouncing how society had focused on ‘spectacle and violence’.

The man had purchased camping equipment and firearms in the days leading up to the incident. The Tesla explosion was caused by a combination of fireworks, gas and camping fuel. A former colleague described Livelsberger as a decorated veteran who had great admiration for Trump.
