Melania Trump became a viral icon on Ukrainian social media in just a few hours after President Donald Trump, during a White House conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, attributed a key role to his wife in the change of course towards Russia.

‘I come home and say to Melania: I spoke to Vladimir today, a nice conversation. She looks at me and says: really? Another city has just been hit!'” Trump recounted, implying that the First Lady had prompted him to reconsider his position towards the Kremlin.

After that family discussion, Trump announced the deployment of Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, as well as a 50-day ultimatum to Moscow to reach a peace agreement.
