At the end of the Mass for the Jubilee of the Sick, a message from the Pontiff will be read. 20,000 pilgrims from more than 90 countries are expected in Rome

Also tomorrow, for the eighth consecutive Sunday, Pope Francis’ Angelus will be broadcast in written form. This was announced by the Vatican Press Office, specifying that at the end of the Mass presided by Monsignor Rino Fisichella for the Jubilee of the Sick, a brief message of thanksgiving from the Pontiff will be read.

Some 20,000 pilgrims from more than 90 countries are expected to come to Rome for the seventh major jubilee event, dedicated to the sick and health care workers: patients, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and technicians in the field.

Earlier in the day yesterday, the Vatican had reported further improvements for the Pope, both at the level of respiratory physiotherapy — with a slight recovery of his voice — and motor physiotherapy, also reporting an improvement in infectious indicators. In spite of this, the Angelus will again be held in written mode, while the possibility of a gradual return to the usual mode in future appointments remains open.
