Hillary Clinton Testifies from Chappaqua on Jeffrey Epstein Investigation – A quarter-century after leaving the White House, Hillary Clinton is testifying before the House Oversight Committee as part of the congressional investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is scheduled to testify tomorrow. The sessions mark a high-profile legal confrontation with House Republicans, who had previously compelled the Clintons to appear before Congress.
Speaking from her home in Chappaqua, New York, Hillary Clinton opened her testimony by denying any personal connection to Epstein. “I do not recall ever meeting Epstein. I have never flown on his plane or visited his island,” she said. She emphasized that she was unaware of his criminal activities, adding, “Like any normal person, I was horrified by his crimes.” Clinton criticized the Trump administration, accusing it of abandoning survivors and enabling traffickers.
Clinton urged the committee to pursue direct testimony from the current president regarding his mentions in Epstein’s files. “A commission serious about uncovering the truth about Epstein’s human trafficking crimes should not rely on media reports for answers. It must seek sworn testimony regarding the tens of thousands of times he appears in Epstein files,” she stated. She also called for a full accounting of missing files from the Department of Justice, particularly those containing allegations against Donald Trump.
She stressed that any individual connected to Epstein’s alleged events, including the notorious island parties, should be called to testify. “A committee led by elected officials committed to transparency would ensure full publication of all files, protecting victims and survivors rather than powerful men and political allies,” Clinton said.
The deposition was arranged to take place at the Clinton residence, following negotiations between their attorneys, David Kendall and Cheryl Mills, and Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. This arrangement was intended to avoid the undignified image of a former president being summoned to Congress. Comer had previously moved to declare the Clintons in contempt for failing to comply with a subpoena, which their lawyers described as legally invalid and politically motivated.
In the days leading up to the testimony, the Clintons reportedly prepared both together and separately, reviewing past interactions with Epstein and developing a defensive and proactive strategy to address anticipated aggressive questioning from House Republicans.
