The IDF confirms the attack on a Palestinian Islamic Jihad command centre in Damascus. Israel reiterates its determination against threats from Syria, while Islamic Jihad denies involvement of their headquarters. UN criticism of Gaza

Israel has confirmed that it conducted an air raid on Damascus, hitting a ‘Palestinian Islamic Jihad command centre’. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said the action shows that Israel will not allow Syria to pose a threat to the Jewish state, reiterating that the fight against Islamic terrorism will not spare the Syrian capital or other locations.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least one person was killed in the bombing, with Israeli missiles hitting a building in Damascus. However, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad denied the involvement of their headquarters, claiming that the attack hit an empty house.

Meanwhile, a UN report accused Israel of ‘systematic’ attacks on the sexual and reproductive health of Palestinians in Gaza, calling them ‘genocidal acts’. According to the document, the Israeli authorities have reduced the ability of Palestinians to have children by destroying health facilities. Israel strongly rejected these accusations, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu branding the UN findings as ‘false and absurd’. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Oren Marmorstein also called the report ‘one of the worst blood accusations ever’.

Israeli MP Benny Gantz strongly criticised the document, considering it a new low point in the moral depravity of the UN, spreading ‘anti-Semitic slander’ and favouring terrorists.
