US-Israel joint attack on Iran targets strategic sites VIDEO
Israeli security source tells Channel 12 the operation is coordinated with Washington. Airspace closed, citizens urged to stay near secure rooms as Israel prepares for possible retaliation
A US-Israel joint attack on Iran targets strategic sites, according to an Israeli security source cited by Channel 12, which reported that the ongoing military operation is being conducted in coordination between Washington and Jerusalem.
The same source indicated that, based on unconfirmed reports, one of the potential targets could be an Iranian presidential facility. Reports attributed to Iranian opposition outlets also claim that residences of senior Iranian leaders are being targeted.
According to the Israeli security source, the US-Israel joint attack on Iran targets strategic sites from which Tehran could potentially launch attacks against Israel. The stated objective is to neutralize operational capabilities that pose a direct threat.
So far, no missile launches toward Israel have been reported. However, Israeli authorities have instructed civilians to remain near designated secure rooms, though not to enter them at this stage.
As the US-Israel joint attack on Iran targets strategic sites, Israel has closed its airspace to civilian flights. The Ministry of Transport urged the public not to travel to airports until further notice. Passengers currently abroad were advised to monitor media updates and contact their airlines regarding flight schedules once the airspace reopens.
The ministry added that Israelis overseas are requested to follow directives and recommendations issued by the National Security Council. Authorities stated that airspace will reopen and flights to and from Israel will resume once the security situation allows, with a 24-hour notice to be provided before operations restart.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces’ Home Front Command said the country is preparing for possible Iranian retaliation following the strike. Tzvika Tesler of the IDF Home Front Command stated that authorities are “doing everything possible to ensure that the population is alerted in time.”
For now, civilians are instructed to stay close to secure rooms as the situation continues to develop.
