The sovereignist candidate backed by the PiS narrowly defeated his rival Rafał Trzaskowski in the runoff. Turnout was 71.63%

Karol Nawrocki won the runoff for the presidential elections in Poland with 50.89% of the vote, equal to 10,606,628 votes. His challenger Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw and candidate for the Civic Platform, stopped at 49.11%, obtaining 10,237,177 votes.

The result, announced by the national news agency PAP on the basis of official data provided by the National Electoral Commission after all the votes had been counted, confirms the victory of the sovereignist candidate, who ran on an independent ticket but was supported by the Law and Justice Party (PiS).

Voter turnout was high, reaching 71.63%, a sign of strong voter engagement in a closely fought contest that went down to the wire.
