Norris wins Abu Dhabi GP and gives McLaren Constructors’ title
Lando Norris triumphs in the final race of the Formula 1 World Championship, with McLaren becoming Constructors’ champion
Lando Norris, at the wheel of McLaren, won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final round of the Formula 1 World Championship. The British driver crossed the finish line first, under the chequered flag waved by Jannik Sinner, preceding the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz, at his last GP in red, and Charles Leclerc, author of a comeback from the back of the grid. Norris‘ victory, together with tenth place for team-mate Oscar Piastri, allowed McLaren to take the Constructors’ title.
Despite a strong performance from Ferrari, with Sainz second and Leclerc third, the Scuderia was unable to turn the tide in the Constructors’ championship. Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, finished sixth after a penalty for contact at the start with Piastri. Oscar Piastri also suffered a penalty, but still finished in the points zone.
Lewis Hamilton, in his last race with Mercedes, finished fourth, ahead of team-mate George Russell.
