Heart attack and cardiac arrest among causes of death. He was 76 years old

Ozzy Osbourne died of an acute myocardial infarction followed by cardiac arrest. This was reported by the British press, which had access to the death certificate of the heavy metal legend, who passed away on 22 July at the age of 76. The official document lists three contributing causes: heart attack, cardiac arrest and coronary heart disease, aggravated by Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction.

The disease and the last performance
The “Prince of Darkness” was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019. Despite his compromised physical condition, Osbourne took to the stage for the last time on 5 July at Villa Park in Birmingham, alongside his long-time Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler.

Rumours of euthanasia denied
The contents of the official certificate deny the rumours that had been circulating for weeks about possible euthanasia. The rumours had been fuelled by Ken Paisli, author of the biography Ozzy, the story, who in the new edition of the book had suggested a possible recourse to “sweet death”, citing old statements by the family and the suspicious timing of the last concert.
