Tragic incident in Egyptian waters, one Italian dead and another injured in a shark attack off Marsa Alam

A serious shark attack occurred in the waters off Marsa Alam, Egypt, where one Italian citizen died and another was injured. This was confirmed by the Egyptian Environment Ministry. Both tourists were immediately transported to the hospital in Port Ghalib, located about 50 kilometres north of Marsa Alam.

According to initial reconstructions, the attack occurred in deep water, outside the designated bathing area. Local authorities decided to temporarily close the area to bathers for two days as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of tourists and residents.
