Moscow accuses Kiev of escalation and promises response. Controversy over dance gala with Russian artists

Russia has threatened retaliation against Ukraine in response to the US Atacms missile attack, which hit the Belgorod region. Moscow considers the use of such missiles a serious escalation and promised that ‘these actions of the Kiev regime, supported by the West, will be punished’. Despite the shooting down of eight Atacms missiles and 72 drones, it is unclear whether the Ukrainian attack caused any casualties or damage. Russian President Putin threatened the use of the new ‘Oreshnik’ ballistic missile in response.

In parallel, Ukraine criticised the participation of Russian dancers in the ‘Les Etoiles’ gala at the Auditorium in Rome, causing controversy. Former Ukrainian councillor Gerashchenko denounced the secret presence of Russian artists, accusing them of not taking a stand against the war. The organisers of the gala, led by Daniele Cipriani, defended the participation, stressing that art promotes peace and harmony between peoples.
