The U.S. president rejects the allegations and asserts his autonomy
Donald Trump firmly denies rumors that he ceded the presidency to Elon Musk, raising his voice and defending his position less than a month after taking office. During a rally in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump wanted to make it clear that running the White House will remain in his hands, despite the growing influence of the tycoon, founder of Tesla and CEO of X (formerly Twitter).
Elon Musk’s role in the Trump campaign and government
While some in the Democratic Party have implied that Trump’s presidency will be influenced by Musk’s presence, the president has instead emphasized the significant contribution the billionaire has made to his campaign. Musk, who has played a crucial role in key states such as Pennsylvania, has also been involved in support operations during emergencies, such as the hurricane in North Carolina, where he dispatched units and provided Starlink satellites to restore communications. Trump praised Musk for his efforts, but made it clear that he has no intention of ceding power to him.
Musk may not be president, but Trump considers him a valuable ally
Trump then joked about the issue of Musk’s citizenship, saying that “he cannot be president because he was not born in the United States,” in response to rumors in the media. Nevertheless, Trump reiterated his appreciation for Musk, considering him a valuable asset, but reiterating that the leadership of the country will remain firmly in his hands. The president also made it clear that he intends to tackle a number of policy challenges, including energy management, illegal immigration, and deregulation, as well as combat what he called “the woke ideology.”

During his speech, Trump also launched a strong criticism of woke culture, which he called “bullshit” to the applause of the crowd. The president has always supported a conservative political view, opposing what he considers an overly liberal interpretation of social and cultural policies.
