One person has died, two are missing and dozens have been injured following a violent explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works plant in Clairton, Pennsylvania. This was reported by local officials quoted by CNN.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed that multiple explosions occurred at the industrial site and that search and rescue operations are still ongoing. ‘There were several explosions today at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works facility in Clairton,’ he wrote in a post on X, noting that the state administration has been in constant contact with unions and local authorities.
