The British prime minister and the US president prepare for their first official face-to-face meeting in Washington next week

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to Washington next week for his first official meeting with US President Donald Trump. The news was confirmed by a Downing Street spokesman during the daily briefing, following rumours leaked in the media in recent days.

Starmer will address crucial issues such as bilateral tariffs and attempt to facilitate a common position between the US and European allies on the Ukrainian dossier, currently the focus of a major European summit in Paris.
