The Israeli security cabinet prepares to ratify the agreement, with negotiators working out crucial kinks. Meanwhile, Arye Dery praises Netanyahu for his role in the mediation

The Israeli security cabinet is expected on Friday to discuss and, in all likelihood, approve the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, after days of intense negotiations. According to official Israeli sources, the main disagreements between the two factions have finally been resolved, paving the way for the official ratification of the understanding. However, despite the preliminary go-ahead, Israeli ministers have not yet been summoned for a formal discussion of the agreement, a sign that the final details are still being worked out.

Arye Dery, leader of the Shas party, confirmed that the negotiating teams have overcome the main obstacles and that the agreement is now practically complete. Dery also reported that negotiators are finalising the technical part of the understanding, a crucial step to ensure its full implementation. In his statement, Dery praised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing his role as a mediator as decisive in reaching this solution, while acknowledging that the work of Israeli diplomacy took time and patience.

This development marks an important step towards the end of one of the region’s most tense conflicts, and although the agreement has not yet been formally ratified, the way now seems clear for a successful conclusion. The Israeli government is preparing for a further phase of international dialogue, while all eyes are on Gaza, where the implementation of the ceasefire could lead to a new phase in relations between Israel and Hamas.
