A short circuit between the second and third floors of the Eiffel Tower caused the evacuation of the iconic Paris landmark. Authorities promptly handled the emergency

The Eiffel Tower was evacuated today following a short circuit that occurred between the second and third floors of the famous Parisian monument. The incident forced authorities to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of tourists and passersby nearby.

According to reports by broadcaster Bfmtv, the short circuit affected one of the monument’s elevators, triggering a fire alarm. The Societe d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (Sete), the entity that manages the iconic tower, clarified that the evacuation was conducted “in accordance with current safety procedures,” and that no one among the visitors was injured in the incident.

Parisian authorities have since allowed the Eiffel Tower to reopen, but only up to the second floor, pending the necessary inspections for full reopening.
