British prime minister declares London’s support for Kiev and readiness to commit troops on the ground if required
The British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has affirmed the UK’s readiness to send troops to Ukraine should it be necessary to ensure the security of the country and Europe. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Starmer emphasised the leading role London is playing in supporting Kiev in the war against Russia. ‘Being prepared to contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine also means being prepared to deploy our troops on the ground if necessary,’ said the Downing Street tenant.
The UK is among Ukraine’s main allies in its fight against the Russian invasion, providing military, economic and diplomatic assistance.
