London will supply 100,000 drones to Kiev by 2026: “They are changing the face of war”
The British government’s announcement following the success of Operation Spiderweb. A package of £350 million is planned for the supply of UAVs alone
The United Kingdom has announced a new and massive shipment of military support to Ukraine, with a formal commitment to deliver 100,000 drones by April 2026. The estimated value of the supply is £350 million (approximately €415 million) and is part of a total package of £4.5 billion intended to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.
‘The UK is stepping up its support for Ukraine by delivering hundreds of thousands more drones this year and completing an important milestone in the supply of essential artillery ammunition,’ said Defence Secretary John Healey.
The initiative comes just days after the success of Operation Spiderweb, conducted by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) on 1 June, during which 117 drones were flown into Russian territory. The attack hit four air bases and damaged 41 military aircraft, according to sources in Kiev.
Meanwhile, on the diplomatic front, Russia has reiterated its willingness to keep Istanbul as the venue for peace talks with Ukraine. ‘Istanbul is a place where a certain amount of communication experience has already been accumulated. Therefore, the question of choosing a new venue is practically not on the table,’ Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said, as quoted by the Tass news agency.
