The 70-year-old actor is battling frontotemporal dementia.
Los Angeles – There are no signs of improvement in the health of Bruce Willis, 70, who is suffering from frontotemporal dementia. The latest update came from his wife Emma Heming Willis in an ABC News special: ” Bruce is still very active, he is in excellent health overall. It’s just his brain that is failing him.”
The diagnosis was made public by the family in 2023. The disease, which affects personality and alters behaviour, also affects language skills. ‘His language is changing and we have learned to adapt,’ explained his wife, ‘we have a way of communicating with him that is simply different.’
Despite the disease, the family still recognises the actor’s unmistakable traits: ‘He still has that sincere laugh, and sometimes I see that sparkle in his eyes or that little smile that transports me. It’s difficult because those moments come and go quickly. But I’m grateful that my husband is still here.’
