Officers opened fire during a ‘security incident’. No link to attack on Israeli diplomats in Washington

A man was injured in a shooting in front of CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, in what authorities called a ‘security incident’. According to NBC reports, security officers allegedly opened fire after a confrontation with the suspect, who was shot but not in life-threatening danger.

The incident occurred minutes after the attack in Washington in which Israeli diplomats Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim were killed in front of the Jewish Museum, but at the moment there is no evidence linking the two incidents. Both remain under investigation by federal authorities.

A spokesman for the agency confirmed the incident: ‘There was a security incident that officers responded to outside CIA headquarters. The main entrance is currently closed, and employees must use alternative entrances. Further details will be provided when appropriate’.

At this time, no official information has been released on the identity or intentions of the suspect. The area has been cordoned off for hours and secured while the investigation continues.
