King Abdallah II reaffirms opposition to Trump’s Palestinian displacement plan
A Unified Arab World Position: no displacement of Palestinians
In response to Donald Trump’s recent statements on the plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza, King Abdallah II of Jordan reaffirmed the firm opposition of Jordan and the Arab world. ‘We strongly oppose it and it is not just the Jordanian position but a common front in the Arab countries,’ he said on X.
A Priority for Gaza Reconstruction
In his post, King Abdallah stressed that ‘this is a common Arab position: rebuilding Gaza without displacing Palestinians and addressing the dire humanitarian situation should be a priority’. The king’s message is clear: the reconstruction of Gaza must take place without the need for forced displacement, thus maintaining the rights and dignity of the Palestinians, but above all, the solution to the problem is the creation of two states.
