Trump’s tariff war: China suspends deliveries of Boeing jets
China responds to the US by imposing tariffs and blocking purchases from US companies, including Boeing
China has taken yet another retaliatory measure against the US, suspending deliveries of Boeing jets to its airlines. This decision is part of the trade war unleashed by President Donald Trump, who has imposed tariffs of up to 145% on a wide range of Chinese goods, in a move that has generated reciprocal repercussions between the two countries.
According to Bloomberg, sources close to the matter confirm that Beijing has ordered its airlines not to accept any further deliveries of Boeing aircraft and to suspend any purchases of aircraft equipment and components from US companies.
China had previously announced retaliatory tariffs of 125% on US products, and this new step further exacerbates the trade conflict between the two economic giants. The retaliatory measures appear to be part of an eye-for-an-eye strategy, with Beijing responding to Washington’s actions with countermeasures targeting the aviation and technology sectors.
