Elon Musk attacks Trump’s budget law again: “Towards debt slavery”
The billionaire harshly criticises the current fiscal manoeuvre and calls for a new law that does not increase the deficit
Elon Musk launches a new attack on the Trump administration’s economic policy. The founder of Tesla and SpaceX used his profile on the X platform to criticise the budget law passed by the current US president.
‘A new budget law should be drafted that does not drastically increase the deficit and the $5 trillion debt ceiling,’ Musk wrote in a post published today, Wednesday 4 June.
‘Towards debt slavery’
In his speech, Musk sounded the alarm about the economic future of the United States: ‘America is on the fast track to debt slavery,’ he said, referring to the surge in federal public debt and the risks associated with uncontrolled expansion of government spending.
This is not the first time Elon Musk has criticised Washington’s fiscal policies. In the past, he has already expressed strong concerns about spending choices and the increase in the deficit, arguing for the need for greater rigour in public accounts. His latest speech reignites the debate on the federal budget and the prospects for the US economy under the Trump administration.
