But on 25 May, Mangione’s Reddit account published his last post, in which he shared a video on a subreddit dedicated to Ted Kaczynski, before disappearing into thin air.

The silence that followed lasted for months. It was not until November that the family reported him missing, but in the meantime Mangione had embarked on a bus trip to New York City. A few weeks later, the police arrested Mangione in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on charges of the murder of Brian Thompson.
