Trump: another geographical slip-up for the US president, who mentions a non-existent conflict between Cambodia and Armenia while talking about his diplomatic successes

During a speech at the American Cornerstone Institute, Donald Trump wanted to list the alleged diplomatic achievements of his second term. However, after mentioning the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, he confused the countries by citing a non-existent conflict between Cambodia and Armenia, combining the Caucasus and Southeast Asia in a single sentence.

Previous slip-ups

The gaffe comes just days after another mistake during a conference in London with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, when the US president spoke of the end of the conflict between “Aber Baijan and Albania”, referring to Tirana instead of Baku for the third time.

Trump’s gaffe: reactions and context

Trump’s remarks, who presents himself as a successful international mediator, have sparked irony on social media and in the press. However, the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, signed in Washington, remains confirmed, while no conflict involves Cambodia or Albania, which are only involved in the president’s confusion.
