Jeffrey Epstein emails reveal contacts with Donald Trump
An email from Jeffrey Epstein shows that one of his victims spent hours at his home with Donald Trump, raising new questions about the relationship between the financier and the US president
House Democrats today released several Jeffrey Epstein emails, the financier who died by suicide in 2019, in which Donald Trump is mentioned several times. In one of the emails sent to his partner Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein wrote that one of his victims had “spent hours at my house” with Donald Trump.
Maxwell replied in the exchange: “I was thinking about that”, showing the continuity of contact between the subjects. Among the emails made public is an exchange between Epstein and journalist Michael Wolff in 2019 regarding Trump’s decision to ban Epstein from the Mar-a-Lago club. Epstein specified: “He obviously knew about the girls, since he asked Ghislaine to stop”.
Donald Trump has always denied any involvement in or knowledge of Epstein’s illegal activities, claiming to have severed ties after years of friendship. Democrats on the Oversight Committee point out that the new emails raise questions about the nature of the relationship between Epstein and Donald Trump and about any information not yet disclosed by the White House.
