A new NBC News survey shows declining support for the U.S. president, with sharp criticism over the economy and his handling of the Iran conflict

Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 37%, marking one of the lowest levels since the start of his second term, according to a new NBC News poll.

The survey shows that 67% of respondents disapprove of the president’s performance overall, with particularly strong criticism over his handling of key policy areas.

According to the poll, 66% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s approach to the war in Iran, while 54% express a strong negative judgment. His management of the economy and inflation also receives widespread criticism.

Only 33% of respondents believe the country is heading in the right direction, while 66% say the United States is on the wrong track.

Economic concerns remain the dominant issue for Americans, identified as the top priority by 29% of respondents. This is followed by threats to democracy at 24%, healthcare at 12%, and crime and public safety at 10%.

Within the economic category, inflation and the cost of living stand out as the most pressing concerns, cited by 45% of those surveyed. Only 32% approve of Trump’s handling of inflation, down from 40% a year earlier, while 68% disapprove.

Support among Republican voters remains strong at 83%, despite a four-point decline since January and February. The share of Republicans who strongly approve of Trump has also decreased, falling from 58% to 52%.
