The former US president underwent Mohs surgery, having previously been treated for skin lesions

Joe Biden underwent Mohs surgery to remove a skin tumour. His spokesperson announced this to CBS, explaining that the procedure involved removing skin until the cancerous cells were completely eliminated. The former US president had appeared in recent days with a wound on the right side of his head, which is now attributable to the operation.

The precedents – This is not the first time Biden has faced cancer issues. In 2023, a cancerous skin lesion was removed from his chest during a health screening. In May this year, he was also diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, with metastases to the bones. Biden himself commented on social media at the time: “Cancer affects us all”.

A long medical history – Even before arriving at the White House, Biden had undergone several skin tumour removals. The new operation therefore confirms the continuity of his battle against the disease, which is being monitored constantly by doctors.
